Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location submitted through a search tool goes directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies any result. We do not log or retain those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained so our team can respond. We do not disclose that message beyond our organization unless the law requires us to do so.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view timestamps
- Your device type and operating system
- The referring site, when one is available
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- Browser type and version
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as popular pages and common exit points. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing and repairing technical problems
- Routing a search to the appropriate partner service
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Measuring which material visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Marshall County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach the Marshall County Sheriff, detention center, Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky court-report system, and Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the provider's privacy policy, retention terms, and sharing rules rather than this policy. Read those terms before submitting a query because we do not control them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Marshall County offices, Kentucky agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their systems to follow activity across websites and tailor ads. That tracking is not operated by us.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Advertising networks that place ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Standard safeguards protect the information we collect. No internet system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied data, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional rights over personal data. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, and criminal-history dissemination rule in KRS 17.150 govern official government records, not visitor data held by this private site. Subject to applicable law, you can:
- Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask for a copy of personal data we retain
- Request deletion where applicable
